Tasting - Orasion Cote du Rhone

Orasion Cote du Rhone

Date of tasting: Friday, January 20, 2012
Variety: Grenache (80%), Syrah (10%), and Mouvedre (10%)
Region: Rhone
Country: France
Year: 2009
Price: $10.95
Shop review: Full of spicy red fruit aromas, with cigar box and licorice tones as well. In the mouth it is rich and complex, while retaining its fruit flavors. Serve with barbeque, grilled meats, and any hearty or spicy recipe.
My review: "Orasion" means prayer in French. I could taste mild hints of spices, like cinnamon. The taste was very earthy and natural. It had a very rich blend of flavors that was hard to pinpoint exactly what I was tasting. It definitely excited my senses and was one of the more enjoyable wines I tasted that day.
I did not have food with this tasting.
